Subject: Kotter on E!
no tape from the show was shown, not one mention of the actor who played the school principal, no interviews from Travolta or Hedges. disappointment.

I agree, and this was my all time favorite sitcom as a kid ranking it up there with Chico & The Man and Sanford & Son. Your right they should have mentioned Principal Woodman's passing at the very least. Who knows maybe he got along with everybody fine compared to the rest of the cast. It seems Washington and Horshack arent getting along now since he (LHJ) told him to "cut the crap and get on with life" in response to his "Kotter curse" theories.
He is right about that. I see no hope for a reunion now alas. Travolta agreed to do a reunion just before his movie revival hit big, but he wanted too much money to play Vinnie. However, when he hosted SNL a few years ago he played Vinnie once again in a Kotter take off with the real Lenny & Sguiggy.
As far as I know Epstein and Travolta are very good friends and are godfathers to each of their children. Hegyes has had the second best post-Kotter career considering he was a regular on Cagney & Lacey for a couple years (they forgot to mention Ron Palillo guest starred on some episodes) and even was invited back for the reunions.
Also on that short lived TV sitcom a few years back, Mr. Rhodes 3 of the Sweathogs in character played their part and I also saw them all interviewed on the Gordon Elliot Show as well in a salute to the 1970s.
I remember the entire cast on Mike Douglas, and Travolta was too busy doing other stuff then too.
I think they harped too much on James Komack, they even failed to mention Charles Fleischer being on the show as a tough gang member, Carvelli and he went on to do Roger Rabbit.

The answer to your question is John Sylvester White who played "Mr Woodman" is dead. Travolta is very, very busy with his movie career, as for Robert Hedges who played "Epstein", I don't have an answer for that. I hope this will answer some of your questions.

Regrettably, I managed to catch only about the last 20 minutes of this E! special. Any idea when E! is going to air it again???
