Subject: color suggestions?

Written By: ChuckyG on 1/6/2000 at 4:26 p.m.

I'm trying to come up with a new color scheme for the top of the page, but it's harder than it looks.. any suggestions? I think I got the background color right, but the font color is still not quite 70s enough..

of course the logo is still in the works.. I expect my friend Mike will do the same excellent job he did on the 80s logo though..

hey chuck,

just thinking you should go with a Have a Nice Day type look for the 70s page. Lots of tie dye-ish colors would look cool. Watch "Dazed and Confused" thats a good movie to get style ideas from.

cheers,

smokey pete

Chucky what about that yucky greenish color that was popular then for furniture and carpet? I think it's called something like chartreuse (if I'm spelling it correctly). Or maybe you could do it yellow like the famous smiley face? Just a thought...

ugh, would you want a yellow navigation bar on EVERY page? it would make the messageboard a little more difficult to read since you'd need sunglasses to read it >grin<

the problem with the 70s is that the color schemes that were popular just look so awful now.. even the hot neon pinks of the 80s look somewhat decent still compared to the muted earth tones of the time.. at least on a computer screen that is...

everyone I ask that I know agrees on one thing, the 70s were a time of some pretty strange color combinations.. what I should have done is saved the wallpaper from my kitchen when I remodeled it last summer.. yellow with faux colonial prints, bicentenial stuff, little 1776/1976 logos and stuff.. would have made an excellent background image for all the pages..
