Subject: need help with 1 movie, 1 after school special
First off is the movie. I remember seeing it around Christmas time in the late 70's. It starts out as a color movie about a boy in some kind of sweatshop in England I believe who escapes and ends up jumping in a river. Then the movie switches to a cartoon while underwater with fishes acting like people and I believe it has to do with the nutcracker suite or something similiar.
Secondly is an after school special about a teenage girl who has a fight with her mom and then while on the subway she bumps her head and when she wakes up she is back in the late 40's (I believe) and her mom is her age and they hang out. Then the girl comes to and it turns out it was a dream. But while back in time her mom shows the girl that she hides cigarettes in an old desk and when she wakes up she goes home to find the cigarettes hidden there after all this time.
Both are kind of vague descriptions but I hope someone can help because it's one of those things that kind of naw at you if you don't know. Thanks in advance!

I tried looking it up for you and I came across a site listing all the specials that were aired. I came across one that sounds what you might be looking for, My Mother was never a kid" which aired on Mar. 19, 1981

OMG!! That is the episode! It was one that really stuck with me because at the time I was reading a lot of Sci Fi and I thought time travel was really cool. I guess this episode is from a book because I did some searching with the title you gave and came up w/ http://teens-books.mainseek.com/-8950-0689859880-0-My-Mother-Was-Never-a-Ki
d.html that gives the description of the show. I can't believe it--I have been searching Google with all sorts of key words I could remember from the episode with no luck. This is a great site! Thanks Holly!!
