Subject: Help with movie

All I can remember about this movie is, some people find a mysterious hole on the edge of town. A dog disappears and  barking is heard coming from the hole. Some guy volunteers to be lowered down in the hole and when he's brought back up, he has gone mad. There's fog or smoke rising from the hole also.

I really don't remember a whole lot more. I'm thinking this was one of those bermuda triangle type movies with different mystery segments. The only other thing I remember is...When the man was being raised from the hole, his picture back home falls off the wall, and his wife senses something wrong.
