Subject: $1.98 Beauty Show
I have vague memories of something called the $1.98 Beauty Show, it was a game show but it made fun of game shows, I remember it had a hamster run into some holes to see what the contestants would win, and the show's model was an old lady in a skimpy outfit, that's about all I remember!

GSN aired that a few years ago - it was produced by Chuck Barris and they would have a trio of c-list celebs who were the judges. And as the title suggests the winner received a check for $1.98.
I always thought it was kind of mean though when they would bring in one heavyset woman to compete against a bunch of beauties just about every show just so she would lose anyway.

I remember this show...
Rip Taylor was the host.
The "winners" would get a broken tiara that was missing a spike (I think it was like The Statue of Liberty's crown). Also they got a "bouquet" of rotten vegetables.
At least one winner went on to become famous...Sandra Bernhart.

By far that show was worse then the Gong Show. I never watched it for a few reasons. First of all, it was just plain STUPID! Second, I always hated Rip Taylor.

Gay or not, I thought he was just obnoxious.

I think Rip Taylor was on the Saturday morning kiddie show "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters". He played a sea genie. Boy,I didn't get out of the house much as a kid. LOL! :D Thanks for the memories! Sincerely,Steve.
