Subject: looking for chewing gum
Hey everyone~
So a bunch of my friends got on this "do you remember" kick at the bar the other night. They're trying to remember the name of a gum- it was square and had some kind of liquid stuff in it. The biggest one I can remember is Chewels, but alas I am a child of the 80's and most of the people that were in on this were from the 70's generation. Some of them say it was called "squirt" or something like that....can anyone help me out here?
???
thanks!
Jamie

I think it was called "Freshen 'Up".
It was shaped in a rounded square...
I always remembered it to be kinda gross...here you are chewing away and SQUIRT this liquid starts ozzing out in your mouth...nasty.
I think they also had Gatorade gum like it too...

Oooh! Freshen-Up, I can taste in right now! I'm thinking mint, I'm thinking Cinnamon, and that sweet, sticky squirt...
Chewels wasn't as good because it was sugarless, IIRC.
I like the idea of a "rounded square," too, that's cool!
Did anyone ever try ABC Bubblegum?
:D

Yeah, it was pretty darn good, actually. Do they still make Freshen-Up. I'm trying to remember last time I saw it.
I loved RAZZLES, "First it's a candy, then it's a gum!" Now they're more sophisticated, they use "flavor crystals."
