Subject: Can't think of a show!!! Driving me crazy!
My memory of this show is very vague but maybe someone will know what I'm talking about. It's been driving me nuts for some time now!
I think it was on PBS or a channel like it, back in the late 70's, possibly the very early 80's. There was a treehouse maybe? I think there was a lady bug character, but I may be wrong. I think the characters were live people dressed up as these characters. I think it was a pretty dull show, but I loved to watch it when I stayed home sick from school.
Does this ring a bell with anyone? I know this is very vague.
Please help if you can!
Thanks!

New Zoo Revue maybe?
Subject: Re: Can't think of a show!!! Driving me crazy!
ooh...I don't know if it was New Zoo Revue. Now I'm confused because that show is familiar to me so I must have watched it. I looked it up and found that it had new shows from 1972-1975, which would've made me 4 at the most. I remember something a little later in the 70's.
I want to say no, it's not it. I'm pretty sure it was another show but not 100%.
Got any other ideas??
Thanks so much for your response!!!

Was it a British show or was it produced in the US?
Do you know or remember if there was a host, and did it have topics to do with making crafts or artwork for kids? Any animation in it?
If you have anything to add to give us a "hit" to track it down, let us know....

Gumbypiz,
I don't think it was British and I don't think there was animation...but a lot of the shows back then went from real characters to animation clips, etc. I know I'm making you work hard with this one, but I can't for the life of me dig anything up.
I could swear it was on PBS or some kind of 'dull' station like that. Not that PBS is dull, but not as lively as some stations. I don't remember crafts or artwork although it seems to me that they taught kids "lessons"??
I found a website about New Zoo Revue and they have a download of the opening song...of course the link to download doesn't work anymore. If I could hear it, maybe I could say it definately was or wasn't that. I think I might buy an episode from e-bay or something...that's how much this is killing me.
Yikes, I wonder how many other people besides myself I'm driving crazy with this one!
Did this help at all?

One more thing,
I just found the a website for NZR and I really don't think it was that show. I don't think the show I'm thinking of was that 'upbeat.' Maybe it was so boring no one watched it but me. :)
OOOOOHHH...I think the lady bug??? read books to the children watching the tv??
Subject: Re: Can't think of a show!!! Driving me crazy!
How about HodgePodgeLodge? I never watched this show, but this might be it.
Subject: Re: Can't think of a show!!! Driving me crazy!
Butterball,
That may have been it. Did some research and it looks like it was a 'boring' show, which is what I think it was. Why the heck did I like it so much then?? :)
However, I can't find 1 website that shows any sort of pictures of the show. The only one I could find is jumptheshark.com which has a lot of comments from people that have seen the show.
If anyone has more luck finding a picture of the characters from the show, please let me know.
Thanks for your input!!! I hope that's the one.

This sounds a lot like "Pinwheel" from Nickelodeon. I remember a ladybug marionette character on the show as well as other puppets, humans and humans dressed as puppets. There was also another show on Nickelodeon, which may or may not have been a segment of Pinwheel, about some puppet/marionette type things who lived in a tree. I believe one of them was a spider named Finnegan who wore tennis shoes on his eight legs and the host of the show was a man who sang and played the guitar. I also vaguely remember something about a hot air balloon, possibly shown during the opening credits. Does this sound familiar?

I forgot about that show!
Pinwheel, pinwheel
Spinning around
Look at my pinwheel and see what I've found...

Evyansan,
No, it wasn't that show. However I DO remember that show! All of these ideas that people are giving me are bringing back all these shows that I've totally forgotten about.
The reason that I know it wasn't that is we didn't have cable for a while and I think this show was on cable. Plus, I'm almost 100% that it was on Maryland Public TV (which is now PBS, I think) not Nickelodeon.
Thank you so much for trying. I'm starting to think it's a show that somebody's mentioned already, but my memory is just screwing up the facts. It was so long ago.
I still can't find any info on "Hodge Podge Lodge" so it still could be that. If I could see some pics from that show, maybe i could say for sure, but...nothing!
Thanks again!!!
