Hey, everyone.
Just wanted to say, this website is "happenin'". A friend hooked me up with this link, and I definitely dig it. Quick question...does anyone remember VALAS ice cream? I bought these very colorful pints of ice cream at a local deli while living in Skokie, IL. I'm unsure if that was the exact spelling of the brand, but I distinctly remember the artwork and font used for it. It was like a Peter Maxx painting? Can anyone confirm this for me?

I was raised in Chicago, and absolutely loved Valas ice
cream. My favorite two flavors were bittersweet chocolate,
and they made a chocolate with rum. I used to buy it all
the time, and it was actually a luxury item. I assume the
company went out of business because I used to look all over
Chicago for the ice cream, and after some time there were
no stores left that sold it. I don't remember the design of
the carton, but I totally remember the taste. When I bought
some, I wouldn't share it with anyone.
