Subject: Jeans on - Shockwave montage of the 70s
Written By: jag on 07/06/03 at 09:10 a.m.
Greetings from London. A few weeks ago I was down in Woking (Surrey) for a few days for work-related stuff and I happened to hear a song being played in the office called "I pull my old blue jeans on". At first I was convinced that it was Leo Sayer - but I was, of course, wrong. A few weeks later (after lots of niggles in the back of my mind) I finally found out and got hold of this song - and I put it together with a montage of images from the 1970s on my "journal" pages. So - I thought I'd share it with the friendly folks around here. I'm sure you'll apreciate it.
Go to http://www.route79.com/journal and find the posting titled "Jeans On" and click on the yellow (seventies) smiley badge in the white animation window.
Turn up the volume and enjoy!
Best regards - Jag

Oh, i forgot to say - whilst you're at my Route79 jouurnal pages you might want to check out the "Retro British Television" posting: (http://www.route79.com/journal/archives/000033.html) which features links to VERY FAITHFUL reproductions of the ATV and London Weekend Television TV idents, as well as Open University etc. You really will enjoy those!
Best regards - Jag
ps - I apologise if this sort of stuff has already been pointed out - it's just that i looked everywhere for a "search" button before posting - but I couldn't find it!

Pleasure. My favourite image is the "Chopper" bicycle! I always wanted one of those - was jealous of my mates who had them. Also wanted a "Grifter" real bad too. Remember the gear-change on the twisting handlebar grip? Oh joy!
Best regards - Jag

Good stuff, there jag - there's a whole load of TV stuff like that on http://625.uk.com/ - designed for anoraks like myself!
X-rated anorak stuff involving David Dundas and TV:
Did you know that Mr Dundas composed the four-note signature tune for Channel 4? (Derr-Derr-Duh-Derr - never heard now!), and probably made more money out of that than out of his other jingle writings...
All the best!

I always misheard the chorus lyrics as "I put my blue jeans on/I put my oval jeans on" - no wonder I was confused as a child! LOL
