Subject: Solid Gold
I used to watch a program called Solid Gold. It had different popular singers on there. Did anyone watch that program too?

I watched it during the mid 1990's on VH1. 8)
Wasn't it shown in the 1980's?
(Possibly started in the late '70's.)

Solid Gold first aired in September 1980, and was cancelled in 1988. There were a variety of hosts, including Dionne Warwick, the late Andy Gibb, Marilyn McCoo, Rex Smith, and Rick Dees.

I liked the show, saw AC/DC, Rush, U2, The Plasmatics, and others. The Solid Gold Dancers never seemed to be in perfect step though, and a couple of the women had too big bootys.

Dick Clark never ages. It's all that make-up and hair-dye that keeps him young. He's gonna be 74 this year,God Bless Him. :D

It must have been heck for them to dance like that in them stilletto heels. :o
That is why for the TV show of the late 80's/early 90's "In Living Color", the producers had the "Fly Girls" (Dancing Girls) wear comfortable flat shoes.
Who said women couldn't be sexy in tennis shoes? ;)
"Solid Gold" does take me back in time. I always looked forward to watching it and was sad about it's cancellation.
Times were a changin' though. :-/
It was better they killed when they did than have it go on morphing into absolute, total dribble, like what "Soul Train" is today. :P

Solid Gold got it's start form "Solid Gold, '79" which was a special in it's format that featured the year in music. The biggest thing I remeber of it was Dionne Warwicks nostrils, they were HUGE.
