WHO REMEMBERS LISTENING TO "MYSTERY THEATER" ON WLS RADIO AT 12 MIDNIGHT?  E.G. MARSHALL WAS THE HOST OF THE ONE HOUR PROGRAM!!!!  IT WAS SCARY.

I remember it on a Baltimore AM station in the mid-70's. My father told me about old radio serials from the 30's and Mystery Theater gave me the opportunity to experience something like that. I don't remember them being all that scary but the melodramatic aspect really held my interest.

Hey Anthony

Mystery Theater was cool.  I dare not miss an episode.  Some of it was haunting.  I thought E.G. Marshall did a great job hosting it.  I was so disappointed when it finally went off the air.  I wonder if I could get it on cassette tapes?  I'll have to search around and see.

Hey 70'sGirl, if you have KaZaA Lite, search for audio files with the keywords "mystery theatre" as the artist (or "ALL").  About 50 or 60 episodes are being shared there as "CBC Radio Mystery Theatre"  :)

I remember Mystery Theater.  That was a cool radio show.  I remember the opening theme with the squeaky door and then they used the squeaky door noise at the end of the show.  EG Marshall would tell us "Pleasant Dreams."  I love it.

:o OMG.. this reminds me of summers at my Grandparent's house. They were too frugal to turn on tv so they would sit in the kitchen with the lights off and listen to Mystery Theater on WCCO 830 AM radio.  I remember I would be peeved cuz they would make us sit and listen.. and  we couldn't watch tv.. but looking back at it now, it brings a wave of nostalgia .  :'( :)
