1970 - End of an era...The Beatles last #1. Okay-ish song, a bit of a typical McCartney ballad, which was tarted up to the eyeballs by Phil Spector (much to Macca's annoyance!) Released in near-enough every known country, apart from Britain...
1971 - Beautiful! When "Tapestry" was released, critics asked whether Carole still had it in her to write...philistines! #7 here.
1972 - Groovy lemon pies, to you! Stiffed completely here, but very-well known due to constant repeats of the Willy Wonka film...I like, but don't make a habit of playing it too often...
1973 - Oh no! He's still there! A McCartney song that I don't care too much for...commented on this last time...#9 here.
1974 - Paper Lace had the UK #1 (back in March), so you'd think Bo & The Heywoods wouldn't have a chance here, wouldn't you? Yep, you were right! Was actually released here though, strangely enough...both versions are competent enough, but I don't really go a bundle on the song...
1975 - Ah! That's more like it! I don't know why, but I do like this...more old composers returning - this time Neil Sedaka! Only a minor-ish hit here (#32), but more people know it than you think...
1976 - Comments as before...great disco tune...(#10 here)
1977 - Pleasant enough song, not one of their best IMO, but I can listen without wincing...of all the singles from 'Rumours', this was the biggest hit, and it only got to #24!
1978 - The part of musical history where everything the Gibbs touched went platinum! Okay-ish song, but I prefer the one before ("Everything") - spluttered to #42 here.
1979 - More Gibbs! Three more! Like Andy's effort - okay-ish, but not attention-grabbing...#13 here

I'm bumping this back to the top in hopes that more people will give their input. :D

"Dreams" is great. In fact the whole of "Rumours" is excellent.
I think I mentioned before on this board that "Dreams" was played at the funeral of my 21 year old cousin who died in a motorbike accident, so the song always brings a tear to my eye.
I didn't like The Corrs version though, although I do like some of The Corrs' original material.

I do recall you mentioning about your cousin, maddog. That is very sad. :'( :'(

I am not familiar with The Corrs version of "Dreams". I generally don't care much for remakes, so more than likely that one won't be my cup of tea either. :-/
