I did too. I got it when I was 11 or so, I remember my dad freakin' about the sex part. The whole thing was cool and I wish they would do an updated version since so many changes in the world.

I do believe they had a few new publishings since the actual first edition-I remember it was like a father and daughter and son team or something.
What lists do you remember ? I remember : :D
People who had abortions
People who died in peculiar ways
Ten people who were addicted to morphine
I think they had The Most Gassiest Foods, also.
10 Hottest Peppers
Noted People and thier Phobias
Wasn't there a list for the ten foods which the government allows the most contamination ? It was the first time I learned that peanut butter was allowed to contain fly wings ! Agggg!

Wow - Go Ask Alice was compulsary reading in all Aussie school curiculums. I still have a copy somewhere.
I was aged 2 to 12 during the 70's so my bedroom library was filled with Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, lots of Enid Blyton, and by 12 - definately The Thorn Birds. I have had the same copy my whole life and it is very well read and battered !! It goes on every single holiday with me as I consider it my "airplane" book. Next month my dad is going on a writers course with Colleen McCullough and he is going to get it autographed for me. He asked if I wanted a new copy but I couldnt bear to part with my old well thumbed copy.

Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi
- Detailed exam of Charles Manson, the Family, Tate-Labianca murders, etc. Interesting reading back in 1973, although it seemed kind of dry for a teenager.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson
- Hilarious, but I have a strange sense of humor.
