Which show was better? Both shows were cheesy even for thier day but but being 10 years old in '76, I watched both of them! :P
For me it was the Partridge Family

I used to watch both of them too. Having 6 kids in our family, we "played" the Brady Brunch (even though it was not 3 and 3-it was 1 and 5 so two of my sisters were Peter and Bobbie). I was the youngest, so I was Cindy.
BUT-as for my favorite of the two, I would have to say the Partridge Family. Even back in 197(?) The Partridge Family was my favorite show.

When I was a kid, the Brady Bunch ruled....but as an adult the Partridge family is funnier and more hip.

Though I watched both shows religiously in the 70's, I love the Partridge Family more, simply because of the ever adorable David Cassidy. How could any girl from that time period not fall in love with him??????????

I'll actually watch the Brady Bunch more, precisely *because* it was less funny and less hip. They try so hard to BE funny and hip, it becomes unintentionally funny. It's mostly a "roll your eyes" thing. It's like, I never laugh *with* the laugh-track. I laugh *at* the laugh-track...
The things that the writers actually thought we viewers would believe - the fake, astroturf back yard, which Greg MOWS!? Please! It's so insulting - yet I'm OKAY with it, for some reason...
I guess, for me, there are so many funny, hip shows and people in the world, it's sort of endearing to see something so completely... NOT - but which *thinks* it is!

It's very difficult for me to choose a favorite. I loved both the Bradys and The Partridge Family. Holly IS right - who didn't fall in luv with David Cassidy back than.
They were both different shows, both which I did not see as being cheesy at the time.

Believe it or not, I was one who DIDN'T. I don't think any of my sisters were "in love" with him but one of my sisters was "in love" with Danny Bonaduche. ::) Now, I watch the reruns once in a while and I can really see how every girl could "fall in love" with him.

I liked both shows but I think I preferred The Brady Bunch. Once I grew up I realized how dumb the show was but I still like to catch the reruns on occasion.
Yes, David Cassidy was a hunk but I was only about 5 when The Partridge Family first aired, so I really didn't have much of an opinion of boys then. ;D

Lots of good info in THIS post. LOVE it. I love the Bradys. And I used to dislike the P Fam but refound it as a grown-up. I never liked David C.

I think the only episode that I liked of the Brady Bunch is when Greg stole the other school's mascot (a goat) and was keeping it in his attic room!

Yeah. I think that was in the show's fifth (and final) season. Susan Olsen (who played Cindy) has said that in the final season the writing was, quote, "almost good".

(btw, that reminds me of another reason why I like watching these older shows - if the goat had been in someone's attic on some sitcom *today*, you'd get the obligatory string of "Having Sex With The Goat" jokes. Oh so clever, these modern writers.)

This is wierd,I am watching the Brady Bunch as I type! It's the one where Greg gets caught smoking! The Brady Bunch rules,the Partridge Family sang way too much!! The only good part of the show was David Cassidy,ummmmm!

The Brady Bunch! Both shows are totally awesome, but I like the Brady Bunch better. My favorite episode is the one when Greg steals the other school's goat mascot! That one's really funny! The Partridge Family should be on tv though, I haven't seen it for years!

Boy, did I have a thing for Leif Garret in the 70's. His pictures were pasted everywhere. Along with assorted Teen Heartthrobs of the 70's...Shawn Cassidy, Andy Gibb, Parker Stevenson, ect...
I think David Cassidy still looks good now. Compare him to Leif Garrett today. I guess all the drugs and drinking can really take a toll on a person.

McPants brought up an interesting point... if the Brady Bunch were on today, all of those step brothers and sisters would probably be boinking each other. That's what poor writers do... when they lose creativity, they go with sex.
When I was 12 and watching the show, I thought Marcia was bootylicious! LOL
