Subject: Any Good TV Programs in the 70's?
We got the thread going on bad TV of the 70s, is there good ones you wish to share? What thread do you think will go the longest, good or bad. My bet is bad, to many of them.
Good Shows-
Mash
Rockford Files
Barney Miller
There's got to be a few more, some I could have but didn't mention so a few others could post too.

I don't know but Sanford & son I used to watch when I was 5 years old(re-runs of that when I was young.) "The Jeffersons" was 70's right to the mid 80's period? Some of these programs people have listed in previous posts are on TNN on the weekday mornings/afternoons like Dukes of Hazzard. What TV program was Rog & Re-Run ? I used to watch that too. Some good programs were good towards the end of the 70's. "All In The Family" I used to watch re-runs of that show in the 80's. Archie was slick the way he talked.
Somebody mentioned "Facts of Life" I think that was all 80's but I'll have to check on that. "Different Strokes" did start around 78-79 period and lasted until 1986. I think "Three's Company" and "The Jefferson's" could go both in the decades of the 70's and 80's. I liked Three's Company too. I was watching re-runs of that a year ago along with "Different Strokes" and "Hangin With Mr. Cooper": made me feel like a little kid again sitting there watching that stuff(well "Different Strokes" and "Three's Company" anyway, "Hangin With Mr. Cooper" is not that old.)

That was What's Happening not a bad show.
And yes Cat, Roots can be included and very well argued the best TV to come out of the 70s. I remeber that was a big deal at our home as well as a huge media event and the reason for many good classroom discussions.
Subject: Re: Any Good TV Programs in the 70's?
Starsky and Hutch
Eight Is Enough
These shows were good and had funky theme songs too.
Subject: Re: Any Good TV Programs in the 70's?
"Facts Of Life" first aired in May of 1979.
Subject: Re: Any Good TV Programs in the 70's?
Good Times (Dyno-mite)! :D

I liked "Facts of Life". Characters from "Facts of Life" also made appearences on "Different Strokes". The housekeeper on "Different Strokes" was also on "Fact of Life". Tootie(Kim Fields) did both "Facts of Life" and was on "Different Strokes" at times.

How could I have forgotten Saturday Night Live? October 11, 1975 is a date that will live forever in TV history. George Carlin was the first host. The show is still going on after all these years.

I had forgotten about "Wait 'til Your Father Gets Home." I loved that show. That was sort of a pre-curser to the Simpsons-but not quite as raw.

The show was called "Project UFO.". I can't remember who played in it, but I remember the opening narration: "Ezekiel saw the wheel. This is the wheel he said he saw. These are unidentified flying objects...". It was about these two government guys who went around investigating UFO sightings. It was based on actual UFO reports.

SWAT was number one at the box office this weekend. I hope Starsky & Hutch can pull off the same thing when it's released.
