I had a friend once who loudly declared "I have all of Pink Floyd's albums!" A hushed silence descended on the room (being made up, as it was, of people who knew considerably more about just about everything than she did). It turned out that she didn't know Pink Floyd had even existed before 'Dark Side of the Moon', and to complete her collection she would, in fact, need to buy another seven albums.

Believe it or not, I didn't discover Pink Floyd until I got my comp three yrs ago. A friend loaned me a copy of the TV aired "Delicate Sound Of Thunder" and I WAS HOOKED. Haven't made it thru "The Wall" yet but D. Gilmour's guitar is haunting and takes a back seat to none in my opinion. PF would get my vote as the top band ever.
PEACE

As some of you know, I abhore those "name the top 10" or "who's the best band, album, etc." lists, but "Dark Side of The Moon" is, without a doubt, one of the top 5 rock albums of all time.
