Subject: 80's diecast robot --- similar to a gundam

in the early to mid 80's there were stores called childrens palaces....when i was about 13 or so..i remember a robot that came in a box roughly about a foot squared and it looked like a book..well kinda..anyway it was diecast maybe and you could put armor...or robot suit armor...??? it was about a six inch robot or bigger....pleaseeee help!!! it is similar to todays gundams..

Uh...good luck. Japan has a robot for just about everything, and they're all gundam like. Hell, Gundam itself has about a million different movies and types.

Could you possibly be thinking of Transformers? I bought a Gundam for my stepson this last Christmas, and it kinda reminded me of the old Transformers.
