Subject: Speed Racer
Huge Speed Racer fan here. I haven't seen it in years but just recently loaded down two cartoons from the net. Any other Speed fans out there?

On the weekend, I went to an anime festival in Sydney (AU) and a double episode of Speed Racer was shown in the Nostalgia slot.
I can't remember seeing much of this as a child (if at all), but check out the very interesting "rotation" effect at the end of the opening credits. This effect was later seen in all it's live-action whiz-bangery in "The Matrix".

My brothers and I used to watch it after school in the mid-70s, but I think it was reruns. My favorite was Racer X!

I saw the new Speed Racer on Nickelodeon this weekend. Pretty cool that a new generation of kids is seeing something so cool. I thought it was O.K. Of course nothing compares to when you were a kid.

They did the same thing to Johnny Quest, TB... at least til they finally admitted to themselves they weren't ever going to get him anywhere near politically correct.
Subject: Re: Speed Racer
Jonny Quest is'nt politically correct, how? I know he and Hadji were kinda tight, and what the hell is Race Bannon doing hanging out with them, gives all people named Race Bannon a bad name. >:(
