Subject: those funky 70's outfits:
Does anyone remember when those FUNK groups from the 70's use to wear all sorts of silly clothes such as jumpsuits, shirts with tons of sequins on them, cowboy hats from what the Gap Band use to wear, very long stretched pants and funky glasses? Does anyone know if those clothes can be purchased anywhere these days? -howard- 8)

Boy, did I just get a picture of KC & The Sunshine Band in my mind!!! ;D You described the outfits very well, jammin. I don't know if those kinds of clothes are still available...my guess would be that you'd probably have to look on ebay or something.

Or if you know someone who can sew, the fabric stores have all kinds of patterns. Unless you want original stuff.

I know, Jonman...unfortunately I think this is what prompted him to add that statement to the end of his posts! ::)

I had a 'bump suit' as worn by Kenny when they sung 'The Bump'. My Mum made it for me because I couldn't get one in the shops.
I also had 2 pairs of Bay City Roller type tartan-edged trousers. A nice white pair with red tartan like Eric used to wear and a denim pair with yellow tartan.
Also remember getting my first pair of Kickers in 76 from the Kickers shop in South Moulton Street, they were really trendy, and so much more comfortable than the clunky platform shoes I'd been wearing up to then. ;)

Remember those "Earth Shoes"? These were those goofy shoes that were higher in the front than the back! Kind of like wearing regular shoes backwards! We had this young teacher who came in with them and spent the whole period in class explaining all of the great benefits of wearing them!
For him it lasted a month!
