Subject: Atlanta Rythum Section/Classics IV?

Written By: RockandRollFan on 05/31/02 at 08:37 a.m.

The Atlanta Rythum Section used to be The Classics IV....Dennis Yost was out and Ronnie Hammond was in.  Do you like either group and what were some of your favorites.
Classics IV:
1. Everyday With You Girl-1967
2. Stormy-1967
3. Traces-1969
4. Spooky-1968
I never cared for the song "Sunny" :(
____________________________________________________Atlanta Rythum Section:
1. Do It Or Die-1979
2. So Into You-1976
3. Imaginary Lover-1978
4. Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight-1978
5. Spooky-1978....I like this version a bit better than the original :)

Hey Hi R&RF

How's the wrist ?  Keep that hand above the keyboard where we can all see it !  ;D

I didn't know one became the other and would never have linked them !

I must admit to only having heard Sunny and Spooky by IV, and have not heard the Spooky 78 version.

But I really liked 'So Into You' somy vote goes to the ALS

FussBudget  ;)

Never knew, or would have even thought there was a connection.

"Imaginary Lover" is one of my favorite songs.  That and the other two hits, "So Into You" & "Not Gonna.." were some of the first songs I got off Napster a couple years ago.

Really dig your choices in music, R&RF! :D

I really liked both bands but with the nod to ARS.... There was a song that I liked quite a bit that the A.O.R. stations used to play called "homesick" which was pretty hard rock for them. It seems to me that toward the end of thier career they tried to emulate 38 special.
