I really like this website,as people who visit here seem very open minded to many things.
It is with this introduction, I mention Warren Zevon.
The people who know this music, know the genius of this man, the people who don't-don't.
So, which catagory are you? Werewolves of London? or Roland, Frank and Jesse, and I'll Sleep When I'm Dead?
Comments? Favorite lines?...

Hi Trinity
Maybe I wasn't paying much attention at the time, but I think in Australia he is pretty much only remembered for Werewolves of London.
So that's where my vote goes.
And by the way, :
WELCOME !

Love Zevon... favorites are "A Certain Girl" and "Werewolves...", but there aren't any bad ones IMO.

I really like Warren Zevon a lot. I think "Carmelita" is probably my favorite. (I keep looking for that Pioneer Chicken Stand on Alvarado...).
Favorite lines? Hmmm...
They rode against the railroads and they rode against the banks and they rode against the government and never did they ask for a word of thanks...
And the line "look away down Gower Avenue" goes thru my head frequently for some reason. :)
It's funny, tho', I could never stand either of his two hits: Werewolves or Excitible Boy. :(

There's a name I havent heard of in quite a while, since '87 when he had his semi hit Sentimental Hygiene. A friend introduced me to him when in '80 the hostages were taken in Iran and we were all playing military type songs. So one of my favorites was Roloand the Headless Thompson Gunner. Werewolves and exciteable boy were not bad either.
