Subject: 20 Questions...A La Karen M.
Well I can't believe that I actually got Zella's question right! :o I will continue this game in the same fashion. Your questions must be able to be answered by "yes" or "no.
I'm thinking of a recording artist...

Okay, so to summarize: We're talking about a living male who was the lead singer of a now-defunct all-American group from the west coast, and they didn't play folk music?
Hmmm, I'm getting a vibe...
10. Does the owner of this web site share the same first name w/ this lead singer? :-)
Subject: Re: 20 Questions...A La Karen M.
The defunct part doesn't help me at all, because I am so out of it, I don't know what bands are still together and which ones aren't :(
11. Does the band specialize in surfing songs?

Let's play fair and wait until we're up to #20 before guessing the artist, okay? ;)

Sorry Karen, I already started this post before your last post showed up :( Er...we crossposted. :-Congratulations, Zella !
This wasn't up to 20 questions yet. I think that next time we all shouldn't be so quick to guess. :-/
Subject: Re: 20 Questions...A La Karen M.
Okay, we shall put in a rule of no guessing until after 20! :D
I thought I was dead in the water when I saw Lester's last post. I've never watched Miami vice! :-/
Subject: Re: 20 Questions...A La Karen M.
Congrats, Zella. :) After 9 q's, I was thinking Karen M. was talking about Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night, since he fit the profile perfectly up to that point. I actually considered the Eagles before making my last post, but discounted them based on the one part about the group no longer being together. Aren't they just sort of "on hiatus"? In fact, wasn't there recent talk about the Eagles touring together again, either this year or next? (Don't know about a new album, though...)
Subject: Re: 20 Questions...A La Karen M.
As I mentioned before, I don't know who is still together these days. :( Once we established that they were all American, I was thinking the Eagles, which I why I asked "west coast band?" but then I thought I'd better rule out the Beach Boys first.
Oooooh! Chuck Negron! So that's who the Chucky was you were thinking of. That had me stumped. I was going, er...Chuck Wilson?--no, that's not right! ;D

My apologies if I threw you on that one, 80smusicfreak! I had said that "to the best of my knowledge" they were not still together. I knew that they had reunited in 1994 for their Hell Freezes Over tour, but I didn't think they did anything more after that. :-/

LOL, Zella! Yeah, I had been wondering about that, too. At the time the only Chuck I was able to come up with was Chuck Mangione!!! ;D

That was the only Chuck coming to my mind too. But wait--didn't he get blown up at Megalomart? Oh, no, that was Louanne's boyfriend... ;D

Just to prove I wasn't crazy, lol - see the link below. New 2002 tour starts in three weeks. So yes, they are still together. It appears the current line-up consists of Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, and yes, Mr. Frey. Oh, and they are indeed working on their first new studio album since 1979's The Long Run, to hopefully be released sometime next year. So catch them this Summer while ya can! :)
