Subject: Same title, different song (1970's version)
Well, since I restarted the thread on the 1980's board, I decided to start a similar thread on the 1970's board.
The rules are simple: you must name at least two songs, both with the same title, but different songs altogether. One song must be from the 1970's. Here are some examples to get you started:
Money--Barrett Strong/The Beatles/The Kingsmen/etc.
Money--Pink Floyd
Colour My World--Petula Clark
Colour My World--Chicago
(NOTE: Warner Bros. Records issued the Petula Clark song in the States as "Color My World." On some American CD reissues, the correct British spelling is used.)
My Love--Petula Clark
My Love--Wings
My Love--Little Texas
Walk Like a Man--The 4 Seasons
Walk Like a Man--Grand Funk (Railroad)
Tonight's the Night--The Shirelles
Tonight's the Night--Rod Stewart
Band of Gold--Don Cherry
Band of Gold--Freda Payne
You Belong to Me--Jo Stafford/The Duprees
You Belong to Me--Carly Simon
Do It Again--The Beach Boys
Do It Again--Steely Dan
Good Times--Sam Cooke
Good Times--Chic
Ebony Eyes--The Everly Brothers
Ebony Eyes--Bob Welch
Lucille--Little Richard/The Everly Brothers
Lucille--Kenny Rogers
Stairway to Heaven--Neil Sedaka
Stairway to Heaven--Led Zeppelin
Fire--The Crazy World of Arthur Brown
Fire--Ohio Players
Fire--The Pointer Sisters
Waterloo--Stonewall Jackson
Waterloo--ABBA
I'm Sorry--Brenda Lee
I'm Sorry--John Denver
Sweet Surrender--Bread
Sweet Surrender--John Denver
Superstar--Murray Head (from "Jesus Christ Superstar")
Superstar--The Carpenters
Baby Come Back--The Equals
Baby Come Back--Player
Can you name any more?

Actually the Beatles' version is a cover version of a song originally done by the Shirelles. But I think Smith's version is best…
