Horschack (sp?) I identified with the outsiders. Come to think of it, my favorite players in bands were usually the goofy ones. Maybe I am weird...maybe, HA ;D
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
I liked both Vinni and Horshack, they both cracked me up.
I can't watch a John Travolta movie without picturing him in WBK or Grease
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
I love the theme song, it always makes me nostalgic for certain things in my life. I also liked the black guy from it. Sorry if that sounds racist, but I can't remember his name.

Racist??? His name ,I believe, is Washington?
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
I know it wasn't really racist, but I just wanted to clear it up in case anyone got the wrong impression

I like Horshack. He was the geek in the Sweathogs, about like I was in high school. I wasn't a big Travolta fan, so Barbarino seemed like an egotist. The only thing funny about Epstein was his excuse letters signed "Epstein's mother".
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
I loved that show. My fav was Vinny (Vinnie?) and after that would be Epstein. Great show! I wish they'd show it on TVLand or one of those channels :(
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
I never ever, ever watched it but I remember that it was always on. 24hrs a day. The only thing that was on more was GoodTimes. UGH!
Subject: Hi every one - new person here.
I heard that this is a nice board with cool people.
As for Welcome Back Kotter, I liked it too. I liked most of those cheesy 70s shows. I wish I had cable because I know there is one channel that broadcasts those old shows all the time. Horshack was my favorite character.

And what's wrong with Good Times? Personally, I loved that show and thought it was even better than Welcome Back Kotter (although I do like the latter). :P
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
It was on Nick At Nite or TV Land earlier this year. OOPS! I mean LAST year! (2 weeks & still doing that! ::) )
I kept seeing the same few episodes while channel flipping.
As for favorite, I'd hafta say Epstien. Loved his excuses! (how many grandmas can one guy have?!)

Up your nose with a rubber hose! :)
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
As one African-American friend put it, " 'Good Times' was funny in its time , but it ain't funny no more". :P

It's interesting because I was about 8 when Good Times first came on the air. I liked it a lot then, but I like it even more now that I'm older and have a new appreciation for those old sitcoms. :)

This is one of my favorite 70's shows! Up Your Nose With A Rubber Hose! I'm Vinnie Barbarino!!
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
Horshack was so funny in WBK.His gestures made me
laugh so much.
howard ;D
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
Ooh, I missed this topic! I loved watching Kotter, in re-runs of course. My favorite sweat-hog was Epstein!
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
I loved that show! Sometimes they still show it on TV Land.
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
I loved that show. Whole cast was very funny but what stands out to me most was Washington's oh-so-suave "Hi There". Thought Hroshack was funny until everyone at school started copying his laugh, then it turned from funny to just obnoxious.

I liked it. There was a marathon on TVLand, and my mom watched it with me. She got me hooked on it (she liked it, too), but I haven't seen it since.
I am probably the only one who's going to say this, but I liked Mr. Kotter and his wife!
Horschack cracked me up, too.
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
:-* SURE, I always liked that show! I still watch it when I have the chance. I saw it onTV Land last night. My favorite was "Boom-Boom" Washington.
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
:P As for "Good Times," it's one of my all-time favorite shows. It still makes me laugh. The storylines and the cast are great. Beats most of the junk on nowadays.
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
I loved "Welcome Back Kotter" too, especially Vinnie. I went on to idolise John Travolta with "Grease" and "Saturday Night Fever". I still think he's a great actor who's career has stood the test of time. :)
Subject: Re: Welcome back Kotter
I used to watch the show all the time. I always loved Horshack. Some popular sayings (besides "Up your nose with a rubber hose):
Washington: "Mr. Kot ter"
Vinnie: "What?"
Epstine: "Signed, Epstine's mother"
Horshack: his laugh
Even though I loved it as a teen, for some reason it is just too stupid for me now.
