The fires have not directly affected me, although a small one started about 20-ish miles away or so (as the crow flies). However, a couple months ago, back in November, there was one that was closer to me that took a few days to contain. I have never had to evacuate, thankfully, because I live far enough away from any mountains.

Some expert in a talk show over here stated that this is probably because of a personal vendetta of Trump against Zelensky. Back at the end of Trump's first term he tried to bully Zelensky into fabricating false evidence against Hunter Biden. Zelensky refused, Trump lost the election and now he's in for revenge. If true it's beyond petty.

"Beyond petty" - isn't that pretty much everything he says? ..and reason he ran for president in the first place, in that he obviously doesn't want to do the job, just wants to win to piss off the people who have said unkind (though true) things about him.
