I’m just hoping that it doesn’t affect my ability to work tomorrow. There has been a threat of a possible power outage due to the winds, which are expected to last through tomorrow. In the morning I will find out if I can drive to work.

Evacuation orders were lifted from that area last night, according to what I heard on the news. But that doesn’t mean we’re cleared to go back to the office yet. Still, I will wait for my boss to send us a text to give us an update.

Update: we’re not going into the office today. My boss said she found out that the power isn’t totally back yet; power is gradually being restored to the area.

Things were just fine during the morning. It’s just that we lost the power in the afternoon, so we couldn’t get any more work done at that point. Hopefully the power is restored; if not, we’ll have another canceled day of work, and that would not be good.

Last weekend, southern California had some rain, which helped get rid of the flames from the wildfires (and made the firefighters’ jobs easier). Now, as of earlier this week, the two biggest fires are both 100% contained! Even better, there are no more active fires!

Yeah, I know I am a bit late to respond to this post but as I was looking through this thread, I did a double take because one of my granddaughters name is Eowyn. And yeah, she is a storm. She is going to be 16 (is that possible?) next month. Need I say anything more?

Rain is expected to happen all day today in Southern California.
This is likely to cause mudflows in the areas that got burned in last month’s wildfires (which thankfully I’m not going anywhere near).

Yep, the burn areas suffered mudslides, including the area where the Palisades Fire was, thereby closing part of Pacific Coast Highway until it can be cleared up.
