Dave Coulier, best known for his role as Uncle Joey in "Full House", has revealed that he's been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of aggressive blood cancer.

I just read about this today. I feel bad for him.
Btw, he was not an uncle; no one ever even addressed him that way on the show. Jesse (John Stamos) was the uncle. The Tanner girls only called him Joey (both when speaking to him and referring to him). Period.

I first remember him from a sketch comedy show on Nickelodeon called "Out of Control".

He wasn’t an uncle. Jesse was. Joey was Danny’s BFF who came over to help raise Danny’s kids. If anything, he would be considered a legal guardian.

I read in some of the articles that he was referred to as "Uncle Joey". I haven't watched that show in forever, but I do know that a close male friend of a parent can be referred to as "uncle".
