Things just got real. Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs was arrested by Homeland Security agents in New York on a sealed indictment.

More details will be released on Tuesday. Various news articles expect charges related to sex trafficking, drugs, and money laundering to be involved.

This criminal aspect is in addition to the ten civil lawsuits filed against Puffy by 8 women and some dude named Rodney Jones who goes by the nickname “Little Rod”. :-X ;D

Puffy was arraigned today, and his lawyer suggested releasing Diddy on $50MM :o bail.  But the judge told him to forget about that, and remanded Puff Daddy to jail pending trial.

Combs is charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution (violation of the Mann Act, a crime of which a young Charles Manson was convicted).

The indictment against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs alleges he used his vast resources and business associates to “lure female victims” into his orbit “often under the pretense of a romantic relationship.”

It describes sex performances known as “Freak Offs” in which Combs allegedly organized the transportation of commercial sex workers across state lines and internationally. These events “occurred regularly, sometimes lasted multiple days, and often involved multiple commercial sex workers.”

Controlled substances were a regular part of the performances, according to the indictment, in part “to keep victims obedient and compliant.” The complaint says Combs kept videos of people having sex at the gatherings. 

Prosecutors offer details on the sorts of supplies they say Combs required for these performances, which among other items included IV fluids, lubricants :o and lighting.

But from what I have read, if he’s convicted of all three felonies of which he has been charged, he’d face a minimum of 15 years in the slam, and a maximum of life in prison. :o

That all assumes, of course, that he doesn’t get “Epsteined” in the New York federal lockup.  :-X

Under his many musical monikers — including Diddy, Puff Daddy and P. Diddy — the industry data and analytics company Luminate said the mogul’s music saw an average 18.3% increase in on-demand streams during the week of his arrest compared to the prior week.

An increase in streaming numbers following controversy is not uncommon. After a documentary about R. Kelly accused the R&B singer of sexual misconduct involving women and underage girls, his numbers nearly doubled.

Combs is charged with federal sex trafficking and racketeering and the indictment, which details allegations dating back to 2008, accuses him of abusing, threatening and coercing women for years “to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct.” He’s pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Buzbee said that 25 of the accusers were minors at the time of the alleged incidents, some as early as 1991.
