Subject: WalMart

Ok, so maybe I am being the cranky old man here but…
Why is it that WalMart cannot afford to staff its checkout lines and expects you to check yourself out, while at the same time they have no problem having their “secret shoppers” out there blocking the aisle with those huge multi-level carts, doing shopping for drive-up customers, bagging it, checking it out, and delivering it to the car, all for no extra charge? ???

I have heard they easily accuse people of stealing when they use the self checkout lanes..... (I wonder if they want ppl to goto a staff lane so it doesnt take thier job away??)

Because some machines can be faulty sometimes and so the customer thinks it's been checked out so they'll take it and so the checkout cashier will then hear the sound when customers go though the exit door then managers will be notified and they'll be accused of stealing.

I don't care what store it is, I will never, ever use a self-checkout. I do not work there. Why should these big corporations pay workers when they can have their costumers do it for free? Again-greed!

Correct. Self-checkout is simply a transfer of labor from the employee to the customer.

The customer is the cashier.

I’m with you Cat. I refuse to do self checkout.

I always use the self-checkout because if I don't, I get stuck behind the person with the shopping cart full of stuff who argues prices

I do self checkout cause it's easier for when I have less items.
