Me too! I particularly have enjoyed going there to get scrapbooking supplies over the past several years.

Per the articles I read, they're not planning to close stores - yet.  But what its future holds is unclear.  :-\\

Me too. It was one of my favourite shops to just have a wander around.

We haven’t got anything exactly like it here. Hobbycraft comes close, and The Range also does a lot of crafting stuff.

I know this may sound crazy but I used to buy hand soap there. They used to sell it fairly cheap. They stopped selling it a few years ago. I bought scissors there, some Christmas decorations and a bit over 20 million years ago, I bought the material for my wedding dress (that a local woman made it for me). 

I also bought a bunch of other things over the years.

For the afghan I just finished recently (afghan) I got the yarn at Jo Ann fabrics.  Plus I've gotten fabric there, notions, and some Christmas things.  It's important to me to have such a fabric and crafts store available nearby.  We do have a Hobby Lobby and Michael's nearby (plus our Walmart has a little stuff), but those stores aren't the same.

The family of a former co-worker of mine used to own the Pat Catan’s chain. Michael’s bought them out, and within a few years they shut them all down.  :-[

I don't do Hobby Lobby. There was one that opened here just as they had that issue about birth control for their workers.I wrote a letter to the editor to our local paper encouraging people to boycott them. Someone from the company responded with their own letter. I guess my letter had more sway because they left town within 5 years later. (I don't do Wal-Mart either for other reasons).

Our Michael's is in the same plaza as our JoAnn's (and where our Bed, Bath, & Beyond used to be-another store I was sad that closed).

I enjoy shopping at Michael's too. Over the years I have purchased scrapbooking products there (as well as JoAnn's). The JoAnn's stores I have visited have had a great selection to choose from.

I loved BBB as well. We bought lots of great products there.

Thats sad to see so many places closing!!
