Here in the US of A, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has released a report stating that cases of syphilis 8-P (a.k.a., The Great Pox, The Italian disease, The French Disease) have grown by 80% in a six year period.

Rates increased among all age groups, including newborns, and in all regions of the country. In 2022, 3,755 cases of babies born with syphilis in the U.S. were reported, which reflects an alarming 937% increase in the past decade, the CDC said.

Syph isn’t anything to take lightly. I had two great aunts (in the 1800s) who died as infants due to congenital syphilis.  :-\\
