Subject: Road House - 2024 Reboot

I just came across this trailer for the Road House reboot. It’s like somebody painted a moustache on the Mona Lisa.

I am very excited for this movie. I've been seeing negative stuff about this movie all over social media, and I think a movie shouldn't be judged until it's actually been released. Trailers often don't say a whole lot about a film

It's not something I'd pay to see in theaters but I'd probably check it out on streaming.

They shoulda given it a different title. It’s like having Chris Rock do a remake of Schindler’s List. ::)

I saw it, and I really enjoyed it. While I admit it's not like the Swayze original, it's not supposed to be. It's a re-imagining, not a remake. There's no Wade Garrett like character, there is no racketeering sub-plot an none of the employees at the roadhouse are corrupt, but that was ok. I hope it will eventually get a physical release so I can put it on my shelf next to the other 2 Roadhouse films

Nope
They should have gotten Kelly Lynch and Julie Michaels to reprise their roles. As well as the unknown actress with the “great attitudes”. ;)

I find a lot of people won't see this movie just because of that age old "Why remake a movie that didn't need to be remade because the original is awesome and the best there is". It's technically not a remake, it's a re-imagining. While there is a Dalton, he does not have the same first name, as well there is no Wade Garrett and the "Brad Wesley" and "Frank Tilghman" characters are completely different, and I like that. Was it better than the 1989 original? No, but they did their own thing and I thought it worked. It was a very enjoyable movie!
