Subject: Descovy for PReP

So I’m watching TV today and Insee one of those Descovy ads. Descovy is one of the latest “PReP” elixirs that is supposed to keep you from getting AIDS.

As the ad proceeds, they say (words to the effect) “after 2 years of using Descovy, 99.7% of the users didn’t get AIDS”.

What the heck? In a two year time span, this stat means that one in 333 people caught an incurable, fatal sexually transmitted disease. That’s better odds than playing one ticket on the daily number. WTF.
