So seriously, in fact, that she reportedly made him sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to ensure that he doesn’t spill any of their secrets — especially ones that pertain to the bedroom.

Before we dive into the NDA controversy, let’s talk about how Madonna and Popper got together. According to the Mirror UK, Madonna held auditions for a new toyboy after splitting from her ex-boyfriend, Ahlamalik Williams. Reportedly, she wanted a younger lover with whom she could have stimulating conversations.

Josh Popper, who is an actor and has appeared in shows like Law & Order: SVU and West Side Story, caught Madonna’s eye during these auditions. They reportedly bonded over their love for art and music, and Madonna is doing what she needs to do to protect the new relationship and made Popper sign an NDA.

According to Radar Online, she wants to keep their private life private and doesn’t want any details or secrets to be leaked to the public — especially when it comes to their sex life — which is why Madonna opted for the NDA.

“The number one rule of dating Madonna is you don’t talk about Madonna,” a source told the outlet. “No one is more controlling of her image than she is.”

This isn’t a new move for Madonna, though. And in fact, Madonna (and a lot of other artists) have their dancers and sometimes even significant others sign NDAs to protect their privacy and craft. “Everyone who works on her upcoming tour had to sign an NDA before they could even audition — and the same applies to boyfriends,” the insider explained. “Before they even know if they’re dating her, her lawyer is on the phone!”
