Martha Stewart Says America Will ‘Go Down the Drain’ if Employee Remote Work Continues
https://people.com/martha-stewart-weighs-in-on-remote-work-debate-7509106
Excerpts:
Martha Stewart is on a “rampage” to abolish the hybrid work model.
The lifestyle icon and television personality, 81, shared her thoughts on people not working in the office five days a week and how that will ultimately lead the U.S. to “go down the drain” in a recent interview with Footwear News.
“You can’t possibly get everything done working three days a week in the office and two days remotely,” Stewart told the publication.
She then compared the productivity level of the U.S. to France, saying the latter is “not a very thriving country.”
“Should America go down the drain because people don’t want to go back to work?” the celebrity cook posed, saying she is on a “rampage” for people to get back into the office and work in person.

America has already been going down the drain. It's not because of WFH, it's been heading that way before the pandemic. If anything it's because people are overworked and why they have all these mental health issues, mixed with easy access/availability of guns.

Not just medicated but "medicated". I'm seeing a lot more junkies everywhere now.

Working from home does this include 'working from someone else's home' or 'working from the local Starbucks'?

As long as you can log in to the VPN and get the work done. You don't have to be at home. I've had to work from an airport, hotel room, Airbnb property, etc.

"Medicated Goo" was about opiated hash, a popular illicit drug among English musicians in the late 60s. No wonder those guys were so mellow and laid back. :D

Not bad. Anything is better than being in that office, as long as it's during normal working hours.

And getting more work done as I have less interruptions from people walking up to my desk every 5 minutes.

We don’t do remote at my company. Not now. Not during the peak of the pandemic. We came in every day and got the job done.

Honestly, I’m more productive as a fully remote employee. I roll out of bed, make my coffee, and get to work. Simple as.

Well that's one company I wouldn't work for.

Yes, not all that time wasted in traffic to try to get in on time and not trying to duck out early. I wouldn't be surprised if I got cursed out for not being able to answer the phone to help out while sitting in traffic on the way to/from the office.

Been working from home for 5 years now. I get more done when I work from home and will never willingly go back to the office. My teams that report to me work very well from home and the production I see compared to production that I saw in traditional office is far higher and better quality. Martha Stewart, bless her heart, need to take several seats. She has no clue what she's talking about.

That's the whole purpose of forcing people to RTO, so they can micromanage and watch their employees' every move.

Oh yes, that too. Funny how I’m able to get more done when I have more personal autonomy.

The other day I saw an addition for this list, 'working from the doctor's surgery waiting room'.

Must be a company that doesn't have sick days and makes you use one of your 10 vacation days if you can't work.

In the past I have worked for companies like that, now I do not have to worry about it.

Some companies have you use your vacation days, if not then you might lose it.
