Subject: Louisiana Now Requires “Porn ID”

Not sure how I missed this legislation being passed, but apparently effective January 1st, anybody who wants to watch internet porn from locations in Louisiana has to provide some form of ID proving that they are not under aged. :o

I wonder what keeps “Junior” from just getting his Dad’s driver’s license and scanning it in to the porn site? ???

ANY Identification as the article quotes: "Age verification can be achieved with a digital ID card or government-issued ID, or via some form of “commercially reasonable method” that uses public or private data to verify age". Honestly IMO i find this kind of silly as what is stopping some tech savvy kid/teen from using VPN to connect to another state does not enforce this rule and bypass this. Hasn't UK (from what I heard, correct me if I'm wrong I'm in the states) have been doing this for a long time? if you going to do this why not do it country wide? but I don't know I don't pay to much attention to American politics, so ignore my ignorant ramble

In the UK, the decision to have ID for viewing such matter has not been made yet, the Online Safety Bill is such a huge and complicated piece of legislation, it is not expected to come into effect. Two years ago the government abandoned its plans to introduce age verification for adult sites when faced with technical difficulties, concerns from privacy campaigners and a legislative oversight.
