We talk about celebrities being “cancelled” as if this were a 2020s thing.
Turns out that veteran actor Harry Reems was canceled way back in the 70s. He was the original pic to play the Coach Calhoun role in the movie Grease, but producers fired him because they thought his reputation was “too risky” for the flick. :o Old-timer Sid Caesar was given the job instead.

Afterward, Harry was unable to get any roles in mainstream flicks. :-\\
So I guess what we see these days is a reboot of the cancel culture.

Harry was a porn star throughout the 1970s and into the 1980s. In ‘84 he co-starred with Traci Lords.
In ‘85 he finally retired from that, and eventually started his own business, Harry Reems Real Estate. 8)
