Just in time for summer, there’s a new craze sweeping the nation, mermaiding. This is a sport where one dons a mermaid tail and then goes to their favorite swimming hole to frolic with their fin. 8)

One would hope so. They should have an annual Mermaid Week Celebration, where mermaids and mermen from all over the world come to congregate and show off their colorful fins.

Not that I’ve heard.
Just read in the Fox article that they are now having “Mercons” kinda like Anthracon.
Mermaid conventions ("Mercons") are now held globally — and just recently, masses of "merfolk" swarmed New York streets for the annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade.

It was in May 2016, Deadline Hollywood reported that Disney was in early development for a live-action adaptation of the film.
