I want to forget it even exists. Maybe the 2020s aren't so great afterall if it gave birth to this ear-bleeding genre.

It wasn’t supposed to be an unironic, casually enjoyed genre. Hyper pop, or PC Music, was supposed to be wrapped in layers of irony like vaporwave, modifying modern music rather than ‘80s and ‘90s easy listening.
The trouble started when the general public started taking it at face value.

If hyper pop becomes the mainstream sound in the mid '20s, I will give up on popular music and officially declare the early '20s as the last era of good music.

Hyperpop, Trap Music, Snap Rap... Is it just me or as time moves on, the music industry comes up with the dumbest titles for simple genres of music? lol

I had to look up hyperpop, and out of the 50 or so examples of groups/artists listed, the only one I was familiar with is Charlie XCX. I like some of their songs though.
