It would be one thing if it was a continuation of the original with the original cast and characters but with a newer generation of characters (like Saved by the Bell), but this one is more like a remake. Only it's going to be more of a drama than a comedy.

I just watched the pilot episode. It's actually a lot better than I expected. It's not necessarily based on THE Will Smith, but more of a present-day Gen-Z version of himself with the current culture.

Nobody from the original cast. It's an all new cast playing the same characters with the same names set in present time. It's also more serious and dramatic instead of being a sitcom, and talks a lot about the current issues.
