Subject: We're in an Inverted 2006 - 2008 Scenario

Written By: Slim95 on 12/14/21 at 3:14 pm

There was a smaller yet still significant shift in 2006 then 2 years later there was a huge shift in 2008. The same is happening today only inverted, there was a huge shift in 2020 and there will be a smaller yet still significant shift in 2022 (most likely).

I'll put in my 2 cents while I can. I feel like an inverse of 2004-2006 (as the thread about since 2020 sucked will 2022 be a great year). 2004 and 2005 were great years while 2006 sucked, while 2020 and 2021 were sucky years so hopefully 2022 will be better.

Yeah and 2022 has a similar ring to it like 2020 had. It kind of sounds cool. So it may also be a shift year in some sense like 2020 was.

2022 is also pronounced "2020 too".

I sure hope so.

One thing I noticed is that since 2016, the summer Olympic years have been the bad years mainly because the presidential elections have been more toxic between our political divide, while the years that have the winter Olympics and midterm elections have been better (well just 2018 so far). Hopefully it will be the case for 2022.

Depending on how 2022 goes, it can either be a good year so it will be an inverted 2004-2006 scenario, or it can be so bad that it's still equal/parallel just much lower. 2020-2022 would be two sucky years followed by a really sucky year, while 2004-2006 was two great/fun/exciting years followed by a mediocre year (2006 was actually not that bad, just pop-culture was "meh" and didn't live up to 2004 and 2005).

Subject: Inverted 2004 and 2008 election cycles

Written By: batfan2005 on 11/14/24 at 9:09 am

I can't help but to think, with the recent election results it seems at least the election cycles of 2004 and 2008 have been swapped in 2020 and 2024. In 2020 when Biden was elected and especially with Kamala Harris as the VP, she was compared to Obama being the first one in her position of color, and this time the first female as well so it was very historical. Also around that time there was a "light at the end of the tunnel" type of vibe, just like 2008 after eight years of George W Bush and we were in a financial crisis. Meanwhile in 2024 Trump was elected for his second term, only it was the first non-consecutive second term since Grover Cleveland in 1892. If Trump was re-elected in 2020 it would have been more similar to when GWB was re-elected in 2004. Only economically and culturally, the last four years (Biden era) were still somewhat similar to the second GWB term. Only the Batman movie was delayed nine months due to the "COVID shuffle" as it disrupted many other things. I do remember especially after Katrina when there was inflation and high gas prices, which I think would have still been an issue if Trump was re-elected then. We'd probably be in a similar financial crisis or worse. Anyhow, I hope for the best for the next four years. We'll just have to see.
