Oh no 😩 I was on there for a while! From 2005/2006 until a few years later. It was cool back then but naturally the bad kind of people starting joining (spammers, brats, etc.).

It feels kinda like a end of an era, but not exactly since it's been obsolete for quite awhile, with websites like Reddit and Quora being the main forum places nowadays.

Just like yahoo groups. I was part of some car groups for 20 years then they just wiped it off the face of the earth.

By the looks of it they have been closed for a very long time.
Looks like Yahoo! Personals closed in 2010. I met my 2nd (last) wife there in 2004.

I like Quora better. But I remember a few gems on Y!A such as "My girlfriend farted when we kissed. Should I break up with her?" (Both parties separately asked about it.)
Yahoo! in general has attracted a lot of right-wing crazies because it's been around for so long and is well past its "glory" days. In general, people have moved on to other search engines and news aggregators.
But Jimmy Fallon got the last laugh.
