Subject: The One Positive of the Early 2020s

The one positive to this era is the music. The music is great. In both 2020 and 2021, most of the mainstream music that came out on the radio is quite catchy and upbeat. I enjoy the music of this era and despite the circumstances I think people will look back and think the music was good in this era. It's not that annoying trap stuff constantly anymore.

I agree. The music so far is pretty diverse with drill, fleeting trap, disco, synthpop, and sadcore/emo pop. Hopefully, the PS5 and Series X get more stock in soon so that video games could also be another positive.

Idk, it seems like the same as mid-late 10s music but more upbeat and with brighter colours to me.

Yeah this is early '20s music but I think the decade will be defined by a new sould that will come either at the mid or late part of the decade. But there were some really good hits and music from 2020. I don't think Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo will be popular for a very long time.

That's what I mean. It's so bad it's good as comedy because it's laughable. Like watching "The Room" or "Backstroke of the West".

It's been around for nearly a decade and hasn't reached anywhere near the ubiquity that dubstep did in the 2010s, to the comparison doesn't fit at all. My prediction is it shatters apart into a couple dozen smaller scenes that influence greater pop music from the underground or that 2-3 hyperpop-ish artists make a more poppy version of the genre mainstream.
