The events of the next week will play a large part in determining how good of a year 2021 is.

Mostly likely not worse than 2020, as 2020 was basically the year of COVID.

2020 was off to a good start other than the World War 3 rumors, Australian wildfires, and Kobe's. It was March when it all went downhill. Maybe this March is when it will go back to normal. Anyhow right now feels like the 13th month of 2020. The pandemic is still around and in fact getting worse, as is the civil unrest and people's emotions, and political turmoil.

I think the entire 2020s decade is going to be very turbulent, we are going to have much greater upheaval before we reach a new kind of equilibrium, hopefully that change tips to economic scale towards less extreme wealth inequality and corporate power.

I predicted that early 2021 would be an extension of 2020, but I still have hope that the later part of this year would be a lot more lighter in tone with majority-vaccinated populations, businesses and venues reopening, and life having some semblance of normalcy.

The only thing that'll make 2021 worse than 2020 is a nuclear war at this point.  ::)

Hey, nice to hear from you again!  :) I also agree that we're pretty much living in 2020 Part 2 right now. But with a new presidency that understands science, I don't think late 2021 will be as disastrous....at least I hope so.

But everything from that era still needs to be fixed, the damage was still done.

Whelp, it went off to a bad start because of the rioting in the US Capitol over Trump losing the election, yet they don't understand how damaged the country already is and wants to only damage it more.

As for COVID-19, countries are experiencing a second or third wave, though a vaccine has been delivered to millions of people already which is good news...

True. For awhile we might go through a honeymoon phase with a new president, but once that's over people will realize we still have problems like all the damage and the pandemic that's still around, and possibly things getting worse before they get better. Not to mention the Trump supporters who will do everything in their power to try to sabotage the presidency, much like the anti-Obama crowd/tea party of about 10-ish years ago.
