2021 looks to be a colossal year for popular music. These are some artists that have announced or hinted at a 2021 album release:
- Drake
- Nicki Minaj
- Lana del Rey
- Rosalia
- Travis Scott
- Bad Bunny
- Lorde
- Radiohead
- FKA Twigs
- Billie Eilish
- SZA
And these are artists who are rumoured to have a 2021 drop:
- Beyoncé
- Adele
- Shakira
- Doja Cat
- Coldplay
- Rihanna (probably just desperate fans)
- Kendrick Lamar

If all of this is true, then 2021 will definitely be a great year for music (and even more so since COVID will probably be suppressed and taken under control)

This is technically from 2020, but I can see this being one of the most played songs of 2021.

I think the early 2020s will be remembered by The Weeknd's peak and all-time high of his music career.

With that lineup it doesn't look much different from 2020 and even 2019. Don't get me wrong, I like most of those artists groups. For now of course most of the songs are going to be 2020 holdovers. Some big name artists and groups I came across with scheduled or unscheduled releases to add to the list include Foo Fighters, Evanescence, Weezer, Kelly Clarkson, Kid Cudi, and OneRepublic.

Yeah even in mainstream radio it has been way better than anything we've heard in the last couple of years. 2020 at least. I've noticed 2021 is still not bad but not as good as the music in 2020.

Agreed. There was a lot of good music in 2020 and my playlist was super long. The only thing is listening to those songs brings back memories of an otherwise depressing time.

I feel like we hit a lull in music. After the Coldplay/BTS and the Post Malone/The Weeknd songs in the fall there hasn't really been any noteworthy hits. One of the only songs I added is "It'll Be Okay" by Sean Mendes and that one is actually depressing. I think after all the good music came out in 2020 (at least one good thing about that year) it's like it ran out.
