Subject: Today Is John Candy Day In The City of Toronto

Even though he died 26 years ago John Candy is being remembered for all of his successes and downfalls. One of John's biggest downfalls being his weight and his relationship with food according to the coroner who performed an autopsy on him. At the time of his death, John weighed a whopping 275 lbs.
John was born in 1950 in Newmarket, Ontario but he spent most of his time as a member of the Toronto branch of the Second City Comedy Troupe. He passed away, ironically enough on March 4, 1994, in Durango, Mexico in his sleep of a fatal heart attack in his sleep but it was also the eve of his Second City Television castmate Catherine O'Hara's 40th birthday.
At the time of his death, he was filming one of his final movies Wagons East.
John's family consisted of his wife Rose Mary and their two children Jennifer and Christopher.
Mayor John Tory has declared October 31, 2020, to be John Candy Day in the City of Toronto, and the Second City Comedy Theatre named their training school after John.
