2020's music is better in my opinion. Aside from 6ix9ine and a few mumble rappers trying to destroy the mainstream, the music has been fairly upbeat and helps me cope with the pandemic. Harry Styles, Roddy Ricch, Dababy, Dua Lipa, lots of artists have been making good songs!

2019 music was dark and depressing, simple.

2020 without a doubt. One thing this year has going for it.

Most mainstream music in 2020 so far has been cancerously mediocre and forgettable, and contained some of the worst stuff I had the displeasure to hear. Just because it's more "upbeat" doesn't mean it's good.

2019 had far better material to offer in comparison without a single doubt.

I agree too! 2019 was just pretty lousy in my opinion, I couldn't stand Billie Eilish and the lack of upbeat dance music that year... As much as I hate to say this but honestly, 2019 redeemed itself by the end thanks to Lizzo and Posty

I actually liked the dark and gloomy vibe of the 2010s, the cheesy and upbeat vibe of the early 2010s was kinda jarring. I like 2020 aswell but not much as 2019.

I'm digging the neo-1980's sound of 2020. At the same time during this transition there is still a lot songs that have that Lo-Fi sound of 2019, like DaBaby's Rockstar, and still lots of trap like Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.

I agree. I’m actually enjoying listening to the current radio station for the first time in a very long time. Until this year, I don’t feel like pop music has really changed much or been interesting to me since about 2003. I know many don’t agree but that’s my perception anyway. I’ve been hoping for this music revival for a very long time and I’m glad it’s happening in my lifetime.
