J Crew, the legendary clothing retailer, is calling it quits. :\'(.

The New York-based chain, known for preppy apparel at times worn by former first lady Michelle O’bama, filed for bankruptcy in a Virginia federal court.

Just a reminder to everyone doomsaying about this: bankruptcy does not necessarily mean the end. Especially in this case, Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which seems to suggest the debtor thinks they can become solvent again if their bankruptcy plan works.
The number of times you have probably flown on an airline that is in bankruptcy proceedings at the time of your flight might terrify you.
I mean yes, the fact that all of these large companies are filing at the same time is obviously not good news, but this is not necessarily the end of J Crew.

I've never heard of them, but it's a sad development nonetheless. But like what LooseBolt said, it's not the end of them, considering that they're trying to seek relief for their debts.
