Microsoft is dropping the flat UI for something with more depth in their newest updates called "fluent":

Looks like 2014/2015 material design to me. I think I had a phone launcher like that.

I absolutely hated the whole Windows 10 interface, so I'm ready for this new design to be seen in colleges, workplaces, etc.

Looks like the Google Material design, but I don't mind it. It's a great balance of minimalism and gradients.

Is it just me? I'm seeing skeuomorphism making a comeback. In some places I see that UI is back and I like that.

Ehh, I still like the flat design better but if they're gonna add more gradients to their background, and adding a bit of a 2D/3D hybrid, then it's not a bad idea! :)
