The producer of the James Bond films has ruled out making the character female after Daniel Craig's departure. "No Time To Die", which will be released in April, marks Craig's final outing as 007, and his replacement has not yet been announced. "James Bond can be of any colour, but he is male," producer Barbara Broccoli told Variety. "I believe we should be creating new characters for women - strong female characters. "I'm not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that." The forthcoming Bond film will see actress Lashana Lynch play a female 00 agent after Craig's Bond has left active service.

Tbh, I don't care whether or not the 007 lead should be male or female as long as the lead has great personality and unique qualities. But I respect the producer nonetheless.

As long has Bond drives fast cars, gambles in casinos, plays golf, and has his favourite drink shaken not stirred, I will be happy.

Never understood this truth be told. If people want a female action movie then make a new original franchise starring a female character. Don't take what is already established and then just change it so you can pander to a specific audience. This never works and no one ever likes it for justified reasons. We've seen how people acted when Marvel did this and no one enjoyed the 2016 Ghostbusters movie.
Someone complaining about James Bond always being male shows us that person's inner sexist/feminist attitude. Just make a new franchise. Don't change what isn't in need of changing.
